SIREN 12 - #B 49 - On Sale - $35!
This is basically a lengthened Goblin able to take a large rig and built in the same way. A prototype has been well tested off the Cornish coast. This boat is of pram form, exceptionally stable and fitted with buoyancy compartments under the side decks, with an optional further compartment under the foredeck. It has a pivoting centerboard and a lifting rudder. The standard rig is a gunter sloop, with all spars stowing within the length of the boat.

Construction is unusual. The bottom is made first and slit at the ends. These are sprung up to fit end boards, automatically giving the right shape without the use of frames or formers. This is primarily a light, fast sailing boat, which can be carried on the roof of a car, but it can be driven by a small outboard motor up to 3HP. Siren is intended to be sailed by a crew of two, but it can be handled by one or will carry three.

Plywood requirements - 4 sheets 1/4" (6mm) x 4' x 8'.
